How long is a test report valid? Do test reports have a set validity period?

Test reports remain valid as long as no changes are made to the product, production methods, or applicable legislation. Should any changes occur, retesting of the updated product is required. Our policy is to renew testing at regular intervals of 1 to 2 years, regardless of any changes.

Can I share the documents I find in the webshop with my clients?

What is the difference between a Declaration of Conformity (DoC) and a Statement of Compliance (SoC)?

The Declaration of Conformity is an official document certifying that a product meets all relevant standards under product safety legislation, often following a specific format for a particular type of product. In contrast, the Statement of Compliance is tailored for other regulations, such as REACH and SVHC, which may not have an official form.

How does a DoC differ from a test report?

A DoC is a formal statement or document issued by a product's manufacturer or importer, affirming that the product meets all relevant legal requirements and standards set by regulatory authorities. This declaration is based on testing carried out on the product. A test report, on the other hand, serves as evidence that we have conducted analyses on the product.

Is national law superior to European law?

Within the European Union, various types of laws apply. At the highest level are Regulations, which are legal acts that apply automatically and uniformly across all EU countries, binding them in their entirety. The EU can also issue Directives, which require EU countries to achieve a particular result while allowing them flexibility in how to achieve it. EU countries must incorporate (transpose) the Directive into national law to meet the objectives set by the Directive. In cases where no specific Regulation or Directive exists, national rules may apply to a product.

Which products are required to have CE and UKCA markings?

Products such as toys, electrical and electronic equipment, measuring instruments, and personal protective equipment require these markings.
